Forest Pack Initiative
The Forest Pack Initiative is Green Gold Social’s innovative climate solution and social enterprise, designed to make reforestation and agroforestry accessible, scalable, and community-driven while generating income to sustain our environmental work.
Why the Forest Pack?
Traditional tree seedling production is costly, water-intensive, and logistically challenging, especially in dry areas like Chongwe. Seedlings require constant watering and careful transportation, often limiting how far restoration efforts can reach.
The Forest Pack solves this challenge by shifting reforestation upstream, from transporting seedlings to empowering individuals and institutions to grow trees themselves, wherever they are.
What is a Forest Pack?
Each Forest Pack is a 1kg package containing over 2,500 indigenous tree seeds, carefully selected to support climate action, sustainable agriculture, and food security.
Seed varieties include:
- Musangu (Faidherbia albida)
- Gliricidia Sepium
- Mutondo (Julbernardia globiflora)
- Acacia
- Musekese
- Tamarind
- Baobab
Clients can also customize their own forest packs by selecting the seed varieties most relevant to their land, farming system, or restoration goals.
Pricing Options
- ZMW500 Forest Pack-4 seed varieties
- ZMW1000 Forest Pack-7 seed varieties
This flexibility makes restoration affordable for small-scale farmers while attractive to institutions, landowners, and urban households.
Climate and Livelihood Impact
The Forest Pack delivers dual impact:
